Meet Our Instructors

Heather Sprouse
Heather Sprouse, MBA Owner/Artistic Director of Cedar City and St.George
Heather has been trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, ballroom, and gymnastics for over 32 years. She has been developing young dancers for over 19 years. Heather currently maintains her training by continually attending professional dance conventions and attending classes in New York City annually in many genres. She has and continually studies and trains with Brian Friedmen, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Joe Tremaine, Joe Lanteri, Doug Caldwell, Desiree Robbins, Chris Judd, Mandy Moore, Marty Dew, Desmond Richardson, Dee Caspary and many more. Heather is currently certified and accredited by Dance Teacher Now, and Broadway Dance Center for the past three years and also recently attended the NYC Dance Teacher Summit for the 2nd year where she had the opportunity to also take classes and seminars from Denise Wall, Ray Leeper, Frank Hatchett and more. Heather recently returned from Pulse Teacher’s Workshop where she received a Teacher’s scholarship at the Las Vegas Pulse Convention.
Heather spent over seven years working for Universal Dance Association as a head instructor and choreographer; teaching across the United States. She is an experienced judge including judging for the nationally televised ESPN National Dance Championships. Heather professionally choreographs in her spare time for solos, duets, and high school and college dance programs and pageants throughout Utah. Her choreography has won regional, state and national awards including Judge’s Choice at USA High school Nationals. Heather also has taught private dance clinics for many schools and for Educational Tours. She has also been involved in choreographing and judging for the local pageants in Southern Utah.
Heather is currently is Faculty in the Dance Department of Dixie State College and not only teaches jazz, and social dance and also works with DSC Dance Company where she choreographs for the company and assists with student choreography. Heather will be teaching jazz at Southern Utah University in their Dance Department this fall and excited to work with such a great faculty.
Heather opened On Stage Dance Studio in 1994 and this is On Stage Dance Studio’s 16th year in Cedar City. On Stage has become the leader and innovator in teaching technique, artistry, current style, and producing the most technically and well trained dancers in Southern Utah. 16 years and On Stage is still moving forward each year with the best dance instruction offered. “To be a great teacher, you must be a great student! That is why I train all year to give my parents and my students my best.”
While running On Stage Heather received her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University. While attending SUU she also was a member of SUU’s Dance Company “Soujourners” and a member of SUU’s Modern Company “Orchesis”. Heather also earned her Masters of Business Administration Degree from Utah State University. She recently went back to her love of Ballroom from college where she was a member of SUU Ballroom Company and competed as a Pro/Am Latin Competitor the past few years. In her spare time she loves to shop, travel. Heather directs, instructs, and choreographs for all the companies at On Stage in Cedar and St.George and loves having the opportunity to share her love of dance with her students.

Erika Hansen
Erika Hansen – Jazz Instructor/Personal Assistant to Heather
If there’s one thing that everyone knows, it’s that Erika loves to dance. She started dancing at On Stage at the age of eight, and hasn’t stopped since. She is a well-rounded dancer and has taken jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, and continues to expand her dance training. She has attended many professional dance conventions including New York Dance Alliance, Tremaine and The Pulse. She recently attended The Pulse Teacher’s Workshop in New York City where took master classes and seminars from the top dance instructors from Broadway Dance Center as well as Mia Michaels, Brian Friedmen, Wade Robson and more. Erika is currently certified and accredited by Broadway Dance Center and Dancer Teacher Now. Erika is also a certified Zumba instructor and is doing an amazing job with our Zumba program that was recently started in Cedar City.
Erika was a member of On Stage as a dancer holding Captain Position’s during her time on the Elite, Senior and Premier Elite teams, as well as an active soloist, and duet competitor. While at On Stage Erika was chosen as Dancer of the Year by her studio teammates as well as Miss Congenial for 4 years in a row. While in high school she was on the cheerleading squad and dance team in high school, where she received many awards and got to share her talent with the community. She was All-Academic Drill Team Member, as well as Cedar High’s Dance Sterling Scholar. Erika currently teaches at On Stage as well as being Heather’s personal assistant for Cedar City and St.George. She is a senior at Southern Utah University majoring in Pre-med on her way to becoming a dermatologist. She is the current Miss Southern Utah, placed 3rd Runner Up at Miss Utah and received the Quality of Life Award for best platform, and former Miss Iron County 2008, and is excited to be a part of On Stage now and for years to come. On Stage is so glad to have Erika continue with the studio where she is adored and loved by the students and continues to set a great example to the students of On Stage.

Janene McCurdy
Janene McCurdy – Jazz/Modern Instructor for Cedar City
Janene McCurdy is originally from Grace, Idaho where she was a clogger for three years, a member of Grace High School Drill Team, and helped establish a local dance studio with her sister teaching jazz, tap, ballet and point. She began her training under the direction of Valeen Tueller and Tina Comadena at the Tueller School of Dance in Logan, Utah. Janene studied ballet, jazz, tap and pointe. It was with The Tueller Dance School that Janene toured to New York City, Las Vegas, Florida, and South Carolina attending Hoctors Dance Caravan. At the caravan, Janene was offered the Hoctors Caravan Kid award and was invited to tour with their faculty and staff. Janene competed in many dance competions and her team was awarded as National Grand Champions.
After high school she was awarded a two year dance scholarship to Utah State University where she was a member of The Sunburst Singers and Dancers. There she performed in the productions of the Glenn Miller Show, “A Moonlight Serenade” and “When America Sings”. She toured with the Sunburst team in locations such as Clorinda, Iowa, Sun Valley, Rexburg, Burley, Idaho, Salt Lake City, and performed for a week at the Tuacahn Theatre in St. George Utah.
She continued her dance education at Southern Utah University, studying under Shauna Medini, Gwen Grimes, Paul Ocampo, and Kay Anderson. Janene was selected to attend the American College Dance Festival in Long Beach, California, where their group was one of the few chosen to perform in the final Gala Concert. She was a student choreographer for the concert “Breaking Boundaries”, and involved in many of the faculty dance concerts. She was a member of the SUU Waukeenyan Drill team for one year. She achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Dance Education with a Health Emphasis.
Janene now resides in Cedar City, Utah and has been an assistant drill team advisor for Parowan, Canyon View, and Cedar High school. In 2007 she helped Cedar High Mohey Tawa’s reach their goal of Region Champions. She maintains her training by teaching and choreographing for On Stage Dance Studio, and attending master classes in Vegas and NYC. Janene was recently added as faculty at Dixie State College where she will be teaching modern and choreographing for the dance company. She also had a featured peices in the St.George Contemporary Dance Concert for the past two years.
Janene annually attends “The Pulse” workshop in Las Vegas, which allows her to dance with the panel of judges and choreographers for the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance.” The panel included: Mia Michaels, Chris Judd, Dave Scott, Brian Friedmann, Wade Robson, Laurie Ann Gibson and Shane Sparks. Janene just recently returned from NYC where she attended the Pulse Teacher Workshop and Dance Teacher Summit in which she took classes from BDC teachers, Mandy Moore, Denise Wall, Bill Evans and more. She is currently certified by Broadway Dance Center and Dance Teacher Now.
Janene and her husband Ty love living in Cedar with their three beautiful children Talon, Tanley, and Jaeda. On Stage is proud to have Janene as an instructor, she is very innovative and dedicated into to dance education and providing quality instruction.

Jamie Crowther
Jamie Crowther-Hip hop-Cedar City
Jamie Crowther has been dancing for 17 years. She has trained in all areas in dance including Jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop and tap.She did most of her training at Elite Academy in Salt lake City but has trained at other studios around Utah. She has been to some of the top conventions and has been invited to dance onstage with some of the top names in the industry such as Brian Friedman and Shane sparks. Shewas also a member of her high school drill team The Bingham Mineretes where she was an officer for 2 years and helped her team claim 2 5A region titles, 2 5A State titles and 2 national championships.
She is currently attending Southern Utah University pursuing a double major in Dance and Hospitality Management. She has been teaching for the past 5 years and has worked with teams all over Utah, California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Texas. She has been a member of the United Spirit Assosication for the past 5 years teaching dance camps in nine different states. Jamie was a member of the Southern Utah University dance team for 2 years and was captain her second year on the team. She also has participated in Faculty and Student Dance Concerts while at SUU. She loves to dance and loves helping her students develop their talent and pursue their dreams. Jamie has been guest instructing at On Stage for the past year in hip hop, modern and ballet and On Stage is excited to bring her into a permanent position as the new hip hop instructor.

Kari Louthan
Kari Louthan – Tumbling Instructor for Cedar City
Kari is entering her fifth year as the Assistant Gymnastics Coach for Southern Utah University. Her main specifications are in coaching, managing the balance beam, cutting floor music and all choreography. She is also the office manager and has operated as the Recruiting Coordinator and in-gym strength coach. She’s now the summer camp director, marketer, fund-raiser, team travel agent, team apparel, and service coordinator. Kari is a proud supporter of SUU Athletics and has been a Thunderbird Club Member for four years to help raise funds for all SUU programs.
For the past several years Kari has also coached for Southern Utah Gymnastics Academy as a tumbling instructor and level 4 gymnastics coach. Prior to working for SUU, Kari was an Aerobics Instructor at BYU and a two-year volunteer assistant for the gymnastics team. She was an athlete for BYU from 2000-’04 and graduated in 2005 with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Business earning academic All-American in 2002, ‘03, and ‘04.
As a student-athlete for BYU, former Kari Dye-Lords posted BYU’s first 10.0 score on the balance beam in 2003. She was the second gymnast in BYU history to ever receive a perfect score, and her 10.0 remains the school’s highest beam mark today with only four 10.0 scores totaled in BYU history! She also holds BYU’s second-best mark on floor with a score of 9.975 and on bars at 9.95. She was ranked second in the nation on beam in 2004 with an RQS of 9.765 and earned a spot at the 2004 NCAA National Championships by finishing first on bars and third in the all-around at the regional meet. At the National Championships she again triumphed and earned All-American status on floor.
Kari has just recently married David Louthan, an Engineer at Smead Manufacturing. She is so excited to incorporate her passion and love for the sport of gymnastics with the unique dance experiences On Stage Dance Studio provides.

Stephanie Terry
Stephanie Terry Richards- Ballet/Point Instructor for Cedar City
Stephanie fell in love with dance at the age of 4. She began her training in classical ballet at Ballet Arts of Southern Utah under the direction of Gretchen Rowe, at the age of 7. She extended her training at the BYU Summer Intensive for 3 years, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Summer Intensive, Nevada Ballet Theater, Arizona Ballet Academy, and many master classes at the American College Dance Festival. Stephanie graduated from Southern Utah University in 2010 with a degree in Dance Performance. While attending SUU, Stephanie also found her new love for modern dance and has performed with the student modern dance company, Orchesis.
Stephanie has performed in numerous ballets such as: The Nutcracker, Les Sylphide, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Stephanie has been a member of the Cedar City Junior Ballet Company for 2 years and has played leading roles of Aurora (2008), and Cinderella (2010).She has also performed and choreographed for the SUU Student Dance Concerts and Faculty Dance concerts as well. Stephanie loves to perform and hopes to bring her love of ballet to On Stage. On Stage is happy to have Stephanie at the studio and already is loved by the students.

Andrea Johnson
Andrea Johnson – Ballroom Instructor for Cedar City
Andrea was formerly the SUU Ballroom Dance Company Assistant Director for two and a half years, and later the Director of the SUU Ballroom Dance program. After earning a bachelor’s degree from SUU in 2002, Andrea moved the the midwest where she taught dance at the DelRay Ballroom and founded the Ballroom Dance Program and UNL Ballroom Dance Company on the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus. She taught there for 3 years and built the program from a four student class, to a 200 member club and eleven couple perfomance company. She has taught students from grade school age through adults and specializes in individual and team performance and competition pieces, as well as wedding choreography for couples. Andrea is the current Director of the SUU Ballroom Dance Company. More than anything, Andrea loves to dance, and hopes to share that enthusiasm with her students. On Stage is excited for her to build the ballroom program at the studio.

- Kay Andersen
Kay Andersen received his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Utah University and his Master of Arts from New York University in Dance Education with an emphasis in performance/choreography. Kay Andersen is an associate professor of dance at Southern Utah University and for twelve years has taught tap, jazz, modern, choreography, improvisation, dance history, dance ensemble, and has choreographed for Faculty dance concerts, Acclamation, Miss SUU pageants, and other special events on campus. His summers find him teaching workshops in Mexico City, Amsterdam, Salt Lake City, and various other destinations. He started tap dancing at the age of seven and has studied with Burch Mann, San Christopher, Paul DeRolf, Henry LeTang, and many instructors at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City where he resided for fifteen years. His tap dancing performance credits include the American Folk Ballet, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, TV commercials, night clubs in Las Vegas and Mexico City, and worldwide touring with tap dance ensembles. For 12 years he was a soloist, participated in the creation of important roles, and taught company and master classes with the Nikolais and Murray Louis Dance Company of New York City. He has performed worldwide in noteworthy venues such as the Paris Opera Garnier (France), Kennedy Center (Washington DC), Brooklyn Academy of Music (NYC), Lincoln Center (NYC), The Joyce Theater (NYC), Spoleto Festival (USA), American Dance Festival (Korea, USA), Carlton Festival (Brazil ), Italica Festival (Spain), Athens Festival (Greece), Aix en Provence Festival (France), Kuopio Festival (Finland), Jacob’s Pillow (USA), Bellas Artes (Mexico), Harbour Festival (Canada), CBS telecast from the Kennedy Center honoring American treasure Alwin Nikolais, cultural ambassador to India representing the USIA Department, and many more. He has been a guest performer with Imago Dance Theatre, Florence, Italy; and San Juan de Letran Danza Jazz, Mexico City, Mexico. Other performance credits include New York based companies such as Shapiro and Smith, Linda Nutter Dancers, Erroll Simpson and Company, Zipolitos, Brenda Baden-Semper, among others. In Los Angeles he performed extensively with the American Folk Ballet which included tours to Russia, Israel, Greece, and throughout the US. He performed as a specialty dancer at Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, the Hollywood Bowl, the Queen Mary, Royce Hall at UCLA, to name a few. Over the past 30 years Kay has had a continuous relationship with Mexico and Ema Pulido. He has taught numerous workshops at Ema Pulido’s Estudio Professional de Danza, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, Ballet Teatro del Espacio, and has appeared in many television specials, commercials, and toured throughout the republic of Mexico with Televisa cinema stars, and Ema Pulido’s Studio Dancers Show. Mr. Andersen recently choreographed for the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival’s production of “Lend Me A Tenor,” and continues to teach and choreograph throughout the United States and internationally. Kay is excited to share his love of tap dancing with Heather Sprouse and On Stage Dance Studio.

Jenna Sandall
Jenna Sandall – Jazz/Ballet Instructor for St.George
Jenna was born dancing! In Sandy, UT she began lessons at the age of three with ballet and tap. As her love for dance progressed, she expanded her interests in the styles of modern, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, lyrical, tumbling, ballet, and contemporary. At age 8 she began choreographing her own solos and duets, and won several awards for her talent. Jenna has had many opportunities to travel and perform in some very cool places, such as at half time of the Holiday Bowl in California, the Stadium of Fire, and at the Statue of Liberty in New York City. While in New York, she also took professional Broadway classes and attended several Broadway plays that she will never forget. Jenna moved to St. George in 2000; while attending Snow Canyon she was a member of the Eshelles for 3 years operating as Jr. Drill Captain & Sr. Drill Captain. As a member of the Eshelles, her team won 2 Regional Championships and 1 State Title! Senior year, Jenna was selected as the Dance Sterling Scholar; she also competed in the Jr. Miss Pageant and was presented with the “Miss Overall Fitness” award.
Jenna was on Rebelettes at Dixie State College for two years, and was voted President her sophomore year. In her third year of college, she took several dance classes and participated in the DSC Dance Company Concert. Jenna was chosen to dance in Odyssey’s Thriller at Tuachann in St.George. To maintain her training and to learn new innovative techniques, Jenna continues to expand her knowledge of dance by attending dance camps & conventions in L.A., Las Vegas, Logan, and New York City. She has trained with choreographers including: Wade Robson, Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Desiree Robbins, Dave Scott, Marty Dew, Nick Drago, Jeff Amsden, Tyce Diorio, Shane Sparks, Brian Freidman, Mia Michaels and more! Jenna recently returned from a week long trip to NYC where she attended the National Pulse Workshop and took classes at Broadway Dance Center.
Although dance is her life, Jenna also excels scholastically and attained her Suma Cuma Laude with her Assoicates Degree in Science and plans to continue her education. Jenna has been a member of the National Dean’s List for two consecutive years and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout College. She is employed at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty as the Media Manager. Jenna absolutely adores traveling, rollercoasters, shopping, and movies. When she’s not dancing, you can find her studying, working, or relaxing! Jenna enjoys having the opportunity to influence children to express themselves in an active atmosphere, and she loves teaching at On Stage! On Stage is lucky to have Jenna on staff and the excitement she brings to teaching her classes as well as continually educating herself in dance.

Jeanette Radmall
Jeanette Radmall – Ballet/Point Instructor for St.George -
Jeanette Radmall began her professional ballet studies at the School of International Ballet and went on to study at the Boston Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School and the School of American Ballet . She won gold medals in both classical and contemporary ballet at the Youth American Grand Prix in Long Beach, California. Jeanette was also a semi-finalist in the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards. She continued her studies at the University of Utah, Department of Ballet on full scholarship and later went on to dance professionally in the corps de ballet at the Nevada Ballet Theatre and as a guest artist touring with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet.
Jeanette danced several principal and soloist roles in many classical ballets including La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Paquita, Cinderella, Don Quixote and The Sleeping Beauty. Balanchine ballet’s became Jeanette’s favorite to perform when she studied at New York City Ballet’s school. When she was dancing professionally she was able to perform in the corps de ballet of Balanchine’s Rubies and Who Cares?. Jeanette was one of twelve dancers chosen to tour to the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C to represent the Nevada Ballet Theatre in a national arts festival where she performed in Equinox.
Jeanette currently lives in St. George with her husband Aaron, who is a local dentist. Jeanette is very excited to be teaching at the On Stage Dance Studio.

Sarina Thomas
Sarina Thomas – Ballroom Instructor for St.George
Sarina Thomas began ballroom dancing as a bribe from her mother. That simple social dance class 11 years ago was initially grudgingly accepted and almost immediately embraced. She fell in love with ballroom dancing and quickly became involved in that.
She trained with Brigham Young University’s youth formation team from the age of 15 and performed and competed at the National Dancesport Competition receiving numerous awards in both Latin and Standard Formations. Entering college, she performed with the Brigham Young University’s Ballroom Dance Company for 5 years. During this time she received intense technique training in International Latin, International Standard, American Smooth, American Rhythm and Social Dance. In each technique style she achieved gold-level status and and received “High Honors” rankings in Medals Exam scores.
As a teacher she has choreographed for, and taught in several schools throughout Utah County. At Centennial Middle School, she coached the competition medley dance team which placed 3rd at the National Dancesport Championships as well as choreographed and taught several dances for performance in their annual concert. In addition to her training in the traditional styles of ballroom, she is also qualified to teach Argentine Tango, Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. She is excited to bring ballroom to On Stage in St. George!
